We are looking to hire a highly motivated Accounting Assistant for a temporary 2-3 month project and a potential contract to hire opportunity. Our client is a public relations firm based out of San Francisco. You will assist with filing, data entry, basic QuickBooks operations, A/P, A/R, and invoicing. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and partially remote.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Accounting Manager with A/P, A/R, invoicing, filing, data entry, and basic QuickBooks operations
  • Prepare reports for CEO and accounting staff
  • Help process payroll and track benefits and time off
  • Reconciling invoices, identifying discrepancies
  • Adding and setting up all accounts (payroll, benefit tracking, email, drive, timekeeping, project
  • management, etc.) for onboarding employees and closing accounts during offboarding
  • employee process
  • Mavenlink-enter in new staff, new projects, billing rates, reconcile with billing rate tracker, control
  • access and more.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing of various company software
  • Track and maintain a report for bill rates
  • Update a budget summary sheet for company to track expenses
  • Maintain, organize, and update client files, company master password and account list

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or higher in accounting, business economics, business
  • At least 2 years of full-time experience in an Accounting Department
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, finance principles, financial reporting, local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation
  • Previous experience in general accounting
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software
