Job Description

Our client is a $300M publicly traded SaaS company located in the East Bay and looking for a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting and SEC reporting. This position will report to Director of Technical Accounting and will be responsible for all new technical accounting transactions and providing support and guidance on existing transactions as the need arises.

  • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting around revenue recognition, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memoranda that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner
  • Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the accounting and management teams
  • Assist in communications with external auditors on revenue accounting issues and maintain procedures to comply with internal control requirements
  • Support finance management with evaluation of reporting trends and impacts of new standards or transactions on financial statements
  • Assist with the maintenance of procedures to comply with internal control requirements
  • Participate in evaluation of new standards on footnotes and disclosures, develop processes and reporting requirements to drive system implementation for scalable and automated reporting for related disclosures.
  • Participate in SOX walkthroughs, and provide support in SOX testing co-ordination between process owners, internal auditors and external auditors
  • Participate in other projects as required

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • CPA required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Public accounting experience required, Big 4 strongly preferred, mix of public accounting and industry a plus
  • Proven track record of quality delivery and on-time performance
  • Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills
  • Outstanding project management skills to establish and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a team oriented approach to managing tasks and delivery
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and involve others as required
  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough
  • Excellent understanding of US GAAP as it pertains to revenue
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of SOX controls for business processes
