Our client is a $200M division of a large publicly traded company and leader in their industry. This is a newly created position due to growth and offers the opportunity for career advancement. Stable company, growing industry, profitable, and great location in Pleasanton, CA.

Job Responsibility:

  • Works closely with Territory Managers, Sales Coordinators, Customer Care Agents, Lien Department and Management regarding questions and issues surrounding items sold via the Company’s website
  • Responsible for timely/accurate payments to Sellers for equipment sold on the Company’s auctions
  • Upload and review payable entries in the General Ledger for assigned sellers
  • Set up payments for wire transfers using the on-line banking portal or initiation of company checks in the general ledger and prepare any adjusting entries as necessary
  • Ensuring accuracy of payments generated to sellers, mitigating any duplication of payments to sellers
  • Work in liaison with Lien and Titles department
  • Understand Seller contract terms and conditions
  • Responsible for verification and accuracy of commissions, fees, and miscellaneous charges on seller statements
  • Make advance payments for Guarantee contracts and other situations (i.e. lienholders)
  • Prepare spreadsheet analysis and other support as necessary
  • Prepare accurate monthly reconciliation(s) of assigned general ledger account(s) and ensure identified reconciling items are addressed/cleared timely
  • Perform other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time, possibly on short notice by Management
  • Ability to interface with external auditors and respond to audit inquiries

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • BS/BA in Accounting required
  • Must have five or more years’ experience in general accounting, preferably at a publicly-held company
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred
  • Proficient with use and navigation of online banking portal payments and reporting preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required in order to interface with both internal and external customers
  • Must have intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Must have strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Must have excellent work habits, including willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially during critical deadlines
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills essential to ensure prioritizing of workload
